Important community announcement:

The Food Bank of Nevada County will be providing drive thru food distribution on Tuesday, May 19th from 10 am-2 pm at the North San Juan Fire Hall. The distribution this time will take place at the Fire Hall only; no other sites. Please help spread the word about this critical service to friends and neighbors who may benefit.

Regrettably, our Sports and Art Camp summer programs will not be held this year. We know how much these camps mean to our kids and we share your disappointment.

Many, many heartfelt thanks to all who offered support for our camps. Your encouragement, willingness to volunteer and raffle prize donations mean so much. We are hopeful that our fun-filled, enriching camps will return next summer and be just as wonderful as ever.

If you or someone you knows is in experiencing homelessness, call 2-1-1 or contact the HOME Team at 470-2686. The HOME Team provides outreach services and helps connect homeless individuals to services, including mental health services, medical care, public assistance services & housing assistance services.

The Family Resource Center remains closed. All food stored for distribution at our site has been donated to support grassroots distribution efforts. This could not have been possible without the compassionate action of the following volunteers, who gave generously of their time and energy so that the many heavy cans and boxes of food at the Family Resource Center could be transferred offsite. So many thanks, Link Adair, Nancy Lorenz, Marc Ryan and Alexa Wondergem

We ask that you please do not leave donations of any kind at our site. Items left unattended quickly become trash that we then have to pay someone to clean up. We will be happy to receive your donations when we re-open.

We plan to publish an online only version of Ridge Connections newsletter again in May. Should you have any contributions, please send them our way by Wednesday, April 29th. We welcome articles, photos and community announcements.

While our Earth Day Celebration, scheduled for Sunday, April 19th, is cancelled, we still plan to have a raffle when we re-open in order to raise funds for our children's programs.

Take care of each other. Stay safe.

Nevada County Counts!
The U.S. Census is underway and we encourage you to be counted. Census data will impact our community's health for years to come. A complete count is needed to ensure adequate support for health care services and supplies, which is so clearly important during this time of pandemic. Census data is also widely used to make important decisions regarding support for social service organizations like the Resource Center, school funding, road maintenance budgets and many other areas that deeply and directly impact our community.

We encourage you to access information and take the Census online at:

You can also visit Nevada County Counts for more about local impacts of Census data:
