by Kelly Casey, Shady Creek Summer Camp Director
There’s a new summer camp program on the Ridge this summer! Shady Creek Summer Camp, operated out of Shady Creek Outdoor School on Tyler Foote road, is currently recruiting campers. Directors Bethany “Echo” Thomas and Kelly “Madrone” Casey have created both day and overnight programs to cater to campers of all ages and interests, from exploring the miles of hiking trails, to daily dips in the pool, to conquering the challenges of the low ropes course, to arts and crafts activities including tie dye.
Safety is a Shady Creek Summer Camp priority. Our site is accredited by the California Outdoor School Association, and, because we are a public school, all staff and volunteers must pass background checks. All activities are supervised by trained staff, and our camper population is small enough that we operate with an overall 1:4 staff-camper ratio.
At Shady Creek, we believe in the power of camp and the positive growth experienced by a camper’s connection to nature, new friends, and new experiences. For this reason we make the effort to keep tuition affordable and accessible to as many families as we can. One way this is accomplished is through the use of a dedicated staff of volunteers, another is through offering scholarships. More information about scholarships is available on our website.
Registration is open and functions on a first-come, first-serve basis. Register now as spots are limited! Grade refers to the grade campers will be entering in the fall. Employment opportunities for high school students also available. For more information please email email@example.com or visit www.shadycreek.org
