Highly respected Master Gardener, Passive Solar Instructor, and Permaculture Educator, Cathe’ Fish will be making a FREE special presentation on the value of permaculture and defensible space as a means of creating a beautiful and fire-safe environment.  Jointly-hosted by the San Juan Ridge Taxpayers Association and Family Resource Center, Cathe’s presentation will demonstrate “how to effectively ‘harden’ your home and garden, while creating a beautiful fire adapted environment that provides the best chance to survive wildfire in the Wildland Urban Interface.

Permaculture offers positive solutions to a planet in crisis.  Discover solutions for your farm, land or backyard. Learn to use nature as your pattern for food production, water harvesting, housing and community. The objective of the Permaculture grassroots international movement is to liberate people everywhere to provide for their family’s and their community’s needs for food, sustainable energy, and well being without exploitation or pollution…from the smallest practical piece of land.”

Fire season is right around the corner; so it’s definitely not too soon to start working on defensible space around our homes and gardens. We hope that you will take advantage of this excellent opportunity to join us at Cathe’s workshop and learn that “DEFENSIBLE SPACE CAN BE BEAUTIFUL and HOW PERMACULTURE PROTECTS FORESTS.”
