April is Library Month- Every Month should be Library Month

Our second pre-school story time on April 29 will be extra fun with Lisa Nolen, the children’s librarian from the County coming to do the program.

Our Spanish Conversation class starts this month. This will be a relaxed introduction, with a small donation which will determined by the numbers attending.

I am always amazed when a book donation comes in just when it is needed.

The library has adopted two Russian Blue Cats (hypo-allergenic) that are influencing the mice to go elsewhere, and entertaining us all.  In the donations appeared: Cat Owners Home Veterinary Handbook, and Why Cats Paint; a theory of feline aesthetics.

Right now, there is a letter campaign for the local Nisenan tribe to regain their federal recognition (we have copies of the letters if you wish to sign them).  The donated book to go with this is: The History of Us; Nisenan Tribe of the Nevada City Rancheria, compiled the tribal chairman Richard B. Johnson. These should be processed soon for you to borrow.  I don’t think I will be sharing the painting book with our cats.
