Is it possible that this summer’s Sports Camp really was the best one ever? Led by Coach Heidi Ryan and her able assistant, Dora Scott, kids played non-stop. Flags were captured. Frisbees and water balloons were tossed.  Balls were thrown, kicked, and dodged. New friendships were made and old ones rekindled as kids ran, jumped, and shrieked with delight. We are grateful to all who made SPORTS CAMP 2015 such a success. We’re already looking forward to next year.

“I like all the new friends I met. I like Dodge Ball best. You get to throw balls at people. It’s so fun. I like snack time and the playground, too. I like all the stuff and all the kids! Dora’s really good at playing Capture the Flag. Heidi’s good too. I hope I get to come back next year!”

“I like that we play a lot of stuff. I like to play Dodge Ball and Melt Down the best. Heidi and Dora talk to me in the nicest way. They’re good teachers. When I come back next year it will be good to see them again.”

“I like Dodge Ball the best! It’s really fun to throw the ball and dodge it. I like Capture the Flag, too. You have to run, and you might get tagged. The point is you have to get the flag and bring it over to your side and then you win. It’s harder than it looks. Heidi and Dora are                                               really, really nice and helpful. I want to come back next year.”

“Capture the Flag is my favorite. It’s a really fun game. I really like water balloon tosses too. I wish we played more sports every day. Heidi and Dora are really nice. They are not too strict and are open to what we have to say.”

“I like Sports Camp because we get to do sports all day and it’s a chance to see your friends without having to call them. It gives you time to get away from home and play with other kids, I’m definitely coming back next year because it’s fun and worth it. I think everybody should try Sports Camp!”

“At Sports Camp I get to run around and play a lot of different games. I like Dodge Ball and Capture the Flag the best. I like soccer too. Heidi is really nice. I like Sports Camp this year and I want it to be just the same next year.”

“Most camps don’t do sports. This is the only camp that does sports, not just one sport like basketball, but a lot of different sports. I like playing Dodge Ball and Capture the Flag and hanging out with my friends. I would like to come back next year.”

“Sports Camp is great because kids get to have fun together. There’s lots of different activities, not just one thing. I really like Capture the Flag, Dodgeball, and Ultimate Frisbee, I definitely want to come back next year because a lot of the kids from around here come. It’s good because all the kids get to come back in a group and make new friends.”

“This is my third or fourth year at Sports Camp. I like all the games we play, playing on the ball field, and that there’s a playground that everyone can play on during lunch. Heidi is great! She’s not too strict and she’s really fun. I will definitely come back next year. I like seeing old friends that have been coming for awhile. It’s really good exercise and it’s a great way to spend your time.”

“I went to the very first Sports Camp. I feel like Sports Camp is a good opportunity for local kids to experience all the sports and things they should experience during childhood and adolescence. It’s very fun and refreshing working with younger kids, seeing their different characters and personalities. Because I enjoyed this first experience of being a camp counselor so much, I would like to come back in the future.”
