“And so it stood, a warm and vivid patch in his life, casting a radiance that glowed in a thousand recollections.”                                                                                                                                             James Hilton, Goodbye, Mr. Chips

James Berardi is as creative, curious, and energetic a man as when he first assumed the dual positions of Twin Ridges Elementary School District Superintendent and Grizzly Hill/Washington School Principal. Throughout his eight years at the helm, he has taken his charge to heart, continuously laboring to improve the lives of students, affecting them in truly meaningful and enduring ways. As a stalwart supporter of the Family Resource Center, he has also improved the life of the San Juan Ridge Community. The FRC could not have accomplished so much nor served so many without his unwavering assistance and support.

One cannot ask more of a departing leader than that he leave his domain in a better state than when he first took charge. Transforming a floundering institution to one firmly planted on a solid foundation, James Berardi has done just that. In mid-September, he will be moving on, assuming the position of Sierra County’s Superintendent of Schools. Although he will be missed, we are grateful to have had the pleasure to know and work with him. Thank you and Goodbye, Mr. Berardi.
