Tip – Asset #16—High Expectations – Parents and teachers expect young person to do his or her best

Research has shown that children who are praised for their solid efforts do better in the long run than children who are praised for being smart. Try not to make a big deal about grades, either high or low, or for winning in sports or other contests. Do reward them for trying hard and remind them that practice makes perfect. That applies for parenting also.
