On February 28, representatives from local businesses, public agencies, and nonprofits met with District IV Supervisor Susan Hoek to discuss challenges facing the San Juan Ridge Community. Issues included the need for public transportation, homeless services, wildfire prevention, readiness, and evacuations, and streamlining sometimes onerous County permitting processes. Supervisor Hoek made it clear that she considers it her duty to serve all District IV constituents, regardless of political affiliation. She further assured the group that she is eager to work with San Juan Ridge residents to attain needed resources.

The San Juan Ridge Family Resource Center will host a Town Hall Meeting with Supervisor Susan Hoek, newly elected Nevada County Sheriff Shannan Moon and other county officials at the end of this month. We encourage one and all to attend this meeting and meet your new sheriff and supervisor. A town hall not only provides a venue in which the public has the opportunity to meet officials. It provides an opportunity for them to meet us, as well. It is a time to speak as well as listen. All are encouraged to attend and introduce yourselves and your concerns to our public servants.
