North San Juan Center Has New Gourmet Chef

Foodie Alert!!  The Tuesday organic lunch at the North San Juan Center has a new chef, and she is the real deal.  This Tuesday’s lunch was a taste of India; chicken Tikka, with a delicious bean sauce and rice, a salad of Armenian cucumbers and tomatoes, and for desert, apple crisp a la mode.  “Good! Great! Fabulous!” says diner Rose Leuty.  Right now the culinary skills of chef Catherine Adair (pictured at right) are known to only a select few, but, and you can quote me, it will not be long before you will be lucky to find room at her table.   The Tuesday organic lunch is served from noon til 1:30 at the North San Juan Center on Route 49, 

“All of the organic fresh vegetables for today’s lunch were donated by Olala Farms, and they have generously offered to donate vegetables throughout the year” says Catherine.  Catherine moved to the Ridge from Colorado a year ago seeking a more sustainable, simpler lifestyle .  “Also the warmer weather was a big draw” says Catherine, mom of 5.  I asked her why she is volunteering to do the Tuesday lunch and she said “People getting together over food prepared with love creates community ,and is spiritually nourishing.”  She will be offering healthy, organic foods from culturally diverse sources.  A donation of from $5 to $10 is suggested, altho no one is refused for lack of funds.  See you next Tuesday!  Bon Apetit
