Encaustic Painting Workshop

This workshop will be a chance to experiment with encaustic medium and oil paints to make a small piece of art. Encaustic is a fun and versatile medium made of a wax mixed with a resin and pigment. We will use beeswax mixed with damar crystals. If they desire, participants can bring paper items such as maps, book pages, ephemera, etc. to include in their art. (non-glossy surfaces work best, original photographs do not work well) All other supplies along with some ideas to get started will be provided for you! Call to register: 265.2826.
