Many thanks to the Lorenz Family for generously donating two truckloads of cut, split, dried, and carefully stacked firewood to help families stay warm this winter. Those who need wood for heating their homes may access small amounts on an emergency basis. Although we do not have enough wood to heat a home all winter, there is enough to get through a few chilly days and nights. If one needs to access emergency firewood, it would be wise to call 292-3174 ahead of time just to make sure that a staff member is available to help. We strongly recommend that anyone who needs additional help with heating their homes calls LIHEAP at 1-888-524-5705. Applying for assistance with paying for propane, heating oil, or electricity, as well as firewood, through LIHEAP is a relatively simple process and well worth the call.
