In January we had a special visitor at the library. Rembrandt (the Bactrian Camel) accompanied his best friend Tabar Teachout to work on the Tapestry Project. Rembrandt stayed outside near the pond while Tabar stitched and watched through the window to see how Rembrandt was doing with his excited visitors. A great time was had by all...we thought about having Rembrandt help people with library card applications. Some of his visitors hadn’t known the library existed! Yes, we do have the DVD of “Weeping Camel” in our growing DVD Documentary Section.
As I was looking at camel articles, on the internet, I saw that at the Saudi Arabian Camel Beauty Contest in late January, 12 camels were disqualified for using botox on their wrinkles. Obviously, it is important to have internet access. We have 4 working Public Computers, and there is a rumor of several newish laptops being donated, to be used in the library. Fiber Optics is coming someday to improve our internet services, and if your laptop is new enough you can use the new printer/scanner/fax. We are creeping into the 21st century.
