Of the many California Gold Rush settlements on the San Juan Ridge, North San Juan has survived as the last functioning town site. “Small but mighty,” she has withstood the ravages of time and continues to provide an assortment of goods and services for those who live in our densely forested, sparsely populated foothill community. Slowly but surely, the face of North San Juan is being changed by local entrepreneurs who have seized upon the opportunity to fill a community need, often providing jobs for others. This article is the first in a series that showcases the people and businesses that are changing the face of North San Juan.

Edmondson Family Chiropractic:                                                   Meet Dr. Patrick Edmondson

The Edmondson Family has lived in the town of North San Juan since 2002. A  graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, Dr. Patrick Edmondson has maintained a practice over the North San Juan Post Office since January, 2017. When asked what motivated him to become a doctor of chiropractic medicine he replied, “I used to have so many problems. I was plagued with chronic pain my whole life. I had chronic headaches, shoulder and back pain. Then in 2008, I was at the county fair rubbing my shoulder when I heard a voice. ‘Hey you! I can help you.’ I went to that chiropractor 3 times a week for 2 weeks; and it changed my life.”

“A lot of people don’t know that chiropractors are gateway doctors. We can do health screenings and refer patients to other doctors for specialties. It’s not just doing bones. I’m a family doctor. I treat people of all ages. Kids need adjusting too, sometimes even more than adults.  People up here need routine screenings. I check kids’ eyes and ears and I do scoliosis checks. This area needs some one to do that. I do chiropractic, soft tissue rehab, exercise therapy, postural awareness, and nutritional counseling. ‘A healthy spine is a healthy mind is a happy person,’ is the mission statement for my business.”

Edmondson Family Chiropractic is located at 20092 Oak Tree Road, N San Juan.  For more info call 988.8993.
