Just when it seemed as if Autumn was seamlessly merging into Spring, March arrived, aroar with whipping winds and torrential downpours. Warm and dry throughout most of this year’s gentle winter months, the foothills were shrouded in a snowy blanket of fleeting stillness. Daffodils that impetuously bloomed in January bowed deeply as March reminded them that it wasn’t Spring yet. Enriched and enlivened by the blessings of late-winter storms, Spring is on her way. A season who loves to make a big entrance, she will arrive gloriously. Heralded by an avian fanfare, she’ll dance in upon a soft green carpet, trailing a sparkling wake of rejuvenation and renewal. Our world is abuzz, preparing to burst from its wintry cocoon. Get ready. Here comes Spring!

The San Juan Ridge Family Resource Center is energetically buzzing with preparations for three BIG events this Spring. The evening of March 24, “A Night Under the Old Oak Tree,” (see page 2) will bring an eclectic variety show, with entertainment by musicians, singers and dancers, accented by the latest fashions created and modeled by Haute Trash. “A Night Under the Old Oak Tree,” created and produced by our very good friends Jeffrey Dupra and Marissa Hernandez, is a fundraiser for children’s activities at the FRC. We are thrilled to be honored as the recipient of such a loving and spectacular gift to our community’s children!

We are eagerly anticipating an evening of fun and frolic with our friends and neighbors “Under the Old Oak Tree” on March 24, then teaming up with the San Juan Ridge Taxpayers Association to present CANDIDATES NIGHT in the Oak Tree Lodge on April 19. Our 3rd annual EARTH DAY CELEBRATION on April 22 will be the grand finale of our this Spring’s events. We invite you to join us for all three. March may have come in like a lion, but she is most certainly not going out like a lamb!
