Service is a guiding principle of the Living Wisdom School and one put into practice regularly by its students. The San Juan Ridge Family Resource Center was the grateful recipient of the school’s first service learning efforts of the year. Many thanks extended also to Jesse Krautkramer, for rearranging his schedule in order to support the work day and for hands on help in clearing leaves and providing tools to accomplish the job.

On Wednesday, October 4th, the Oak Tree Campus bustled with volunteers from the Ananda Living Wisdom Jr. High and Sr. High School as the grounds received some much needed attention. The goals of the work party were to improve fire preparedness and enhance general safety. Students and staff scanned the grounds for garbage and picked up the trash they found, raked leaves and added them to piles for future burning, removed encroaching vegetation from the perimeter of buildings, hacked away at berry vines to increase access to the basketball court, pulled star thistles from areas where small children play and removed pine cones and needles from the playground.
